If badges aren't scanning first troubleshoot tip is to check the back of the scanner post and confirm that there is a red glow
If no red glow, shine a flashlight (from your cell phone) in the back of the post
If still no red glow, open up the post door and check to see if the scanner has fallen down from it's position
Proper position is red cross-hairs centered on the card platform, as high as can possibly fit snuggly to the top of the post.
If issues persist. Call Reality support or submit a ticket for assistance.
Best Practices:
scanning the badge should be smooth, but some things to avoid...
pulling the badge in and out too quickly may not activate a scan
leaving a single badge in for more than a few seconds (10 sec) would likely case multiple scans against the same card
